Festival on the Green Rules and Guidelines
1. Entry Fee. 10' x 10' spaces are $70 each. Vendors may request multiple spaces. Entry fees will be deposited by the Crofton Chamber of Commerce. If sharing a booth, both exhibitors must fill out separate applications and note who you are sharing with. All past vendors are grandfathered into the event at the $70 rate for a 10 x 10 space. All existing Chamber of Commerce members are allowed to participate in the event price of $70 for a 10 x 10 space. If you are not a member of the Crofton Chamber of Commerce and were not a past participant of the craft fair the entrance fee is $100 for a 10 x 10 space.
2. Weather. The fair is held rain or shine. There is no rain date. Application fees will not be refunded for inclement weather.
3. Cancellation Policy. The fee is non-refundable.
4. Acceptable Items. With the exception of food vendors, all items offered for sale must be handmade, home-produced crafts and works of art. In addition each craft must demonstrate individualized talent or skill level, that is inherent in the product you are creating. If your craft utilizes commercial or material products, the resulting product must be enhanced by at least two materials by you, the vendor or artist. If you are not enhancing commercial or natural products with at least one material (i.e., paint, decoupage, etc.), then the item will not be considered eligible for display or sale. (Note: While you, the artist or vendor, are not required to be present at the Fair, the person manning your table must be knowledgeable of how your craft is produced in order to answer inquiries from shoppers and/or the Crofton Chamber of Commerce Board.) In addition there are many businesses that have made their “Craft” into a larger business model and the definition of a “Craft” can be blurred as technology is implemented. For instance, if your craft is the making of “custom salad dressing” according to the individuals allergies and tastes…..you may sell your salad dressings on site, but you must “visually demonstrate” the actual making of the products on site the day of the fair. If you are a designer of custom shirts, you must setup shop to show the process you go through in “Crafting” your shirts by actually making shirts onsite. We all must maintain a responsibility to show our “Craft”/“talent”/”Skill Level” to the customer and the other vendors. In addition, the board of directors at the Chamber of Commerce understand that sometimes a “Craft” that demonstrates “Talent or Skill” can be difficult to describe and portray. The Board reserves the right to accept or deny any craft, but will always have open communication with any crafter that wants to explain their product further in order to be accepted into the list of approved crafters.
5. Vendor’s License. All vendors must possess a valid Maryland Sales Tax License or file a Concessionaire's Return, which is the responsibility of the vendor, not the Crofton Chamber of Commerce. A representative from Maryland's Comptrollers office will be onsite to provide the necessary paperwork. For more information, please see the Comptroller of Maryland online at http://business.marylandtaxes.com/taxinfo/salesanduse/fleamarket.asp.
6. Food/Beverage Vendors. Fair participants selling any type of food (including bake sales) must secure a one-day permit from the Anne Arundel County Health Department. Applications may be obtained at
http://www.aahealth.org/envhlth_licenses.asp. (Non-profit groups must supply a tax exempt number; for-profit groups must pay a fee.)
7. Assigned Spots. Participants are responsible for providing canopies, tables, chairs, and other display materials for their spot. ALL VENDORS MUST STAY IN THEIR DESIGNATED SPACES.
8. Setup and Take Down. Set up may begin no earlier than 7:00 AM when a Crofton Chamber of Commerce Board member will be on the grounds. This will ensure that everyone is setting up properly and in the correct designated space. At the end of the day, vendors are to vacate the grounds of the Country Club by 5:30 PM.
9. Parking. Double parking on Crofton Parkway is not permitted. Your vehicle may be parked at your vendor spot for loading and unloading only. All vehicles must be removed from the Fair grounds by 10:00AM.
10. Trash. Vendors are responsible for the removal of all their own trash. Trash cans and a dumpster are located in several areas of the parking lot for your use.
11. Pets. Animals are not allowed on the premises.
